Chevy Malibu–Week 1
It’s been an entire week driving and enjoying my 2010 Chevy Malibu. And overall, I have been extremely impressed especially since my husband and I are in the market to buy a new vehicle in the next 6-8 months. For all of our married life (4 years), we have been single car owners so we’re used to shuttling cars and scheduling appointments that fit both our schedules. And for over the last four years, Greg (my hubby) has almost always worked out of state as a Healthcare IT Consultant moving from different project to project.
What I liked–
- Bluetooth. This was fantastic! I could participate in conference calls and take my scheduled business calls without worrying about juggling my iphone to my ear.
- The Look. I’ll say it–the Chevy Malibu is sexy. It has a sleek look and design that is so very different from the boxy Chevy Cavalier I drove in the 1990′s.
- The Gas Mileage. Last week I averaged 29 miles to the gallon while driving in town and on the highway all over the OKC Metro in the Chevy Malibu. My Nissan Murano get approximately 22 miles to the gallon so the 7 mile differential is a substantial cost savings especially with how much I drive.
- The Trunk Space. It’s roomy and can fit almost everything a mom could ever imagine. Check out my video below as I display just how much you can fit into Chevy Malibu’s trunk.
What I didn’t–
- Front Seat Cup Holder. It was impossible to fit two large drinks in the cup holder in the front which made it difficult if you had a front seat passenger with you.
- No Rear Camera. In our Murano, we have a rear camera that displays when the car is shifted into reverse. I didn’t realize how much I love this feature on my car until I didn’t have it.

FTC Disclosure: The Gotta Love Chevy Blogger Promotion is being sponsored by the Oklahoma Chevy Team Dealers. Three women bloggers (including me) have been provided a Chevy Malibu vehicle to test drive for four weeks. The program includes weekly fun activities or projects for us to complete and have been provided gift cards in which to complete these assignments.

Jessica, good video, that is impressive how much you can fit in the trunk….but as a suburban mom, aren’t you legally required to have a mini-van?
